vocational development and entrepreneurship. Constraints of entrepreneurship in Nigeria. Micro,
Small and Medium Enterprises. Sources of Financing Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises.
Marketing Strategies. Government policies on skill acquisition in Nigeria.
Course Structure The course content covers meaning of education, types of education and their importance. Concept of teacher education, purpose and constraints of teacher education. Meaning of teaching and the principles of idea teacher and teachers roles in the classroom, school and in the society at large. Concept of a profession, characteristics of profession. The teacher profession in Nigeria and obstacles to full professionalization of teaching in Nigeria. The status of teachers in Nigeria, the school and community relation, teaching practice for students teacher, objectives organisations and participants, code of ethics of the teaching profession.
