Abstract This study investigated e-learning: availability and utilization in curriculum implementation for sustainable development in Public Secondary Schools in Delta State. Two research questions were raised and two hypotheses formulated. The study employed a survey design. The population of the study was all the (20) public secondary schools in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. The sample of the study consist of 200 teachers who were randomly selected from (20) schools. The instrument for data collection was a structured questionnaire of a four point rating scale Strongly Agree (SA), Agree (A), Disagree (D) and Strongly Disagree (SD). The reliability of the instrument was also established using Pearson product moment correlation. A reliability coefficient of 0.77 was obtained showing that the instrument was reliable. Mean (X) was used to analyze data collected which was used to answer the research questions formulated while t-test was used to test the hypotheses formulated for the study at 0.05 level of significance. In testing the research questions the mean (X) of 2.5 was regarded as the benchmark. The findings showed that e-learning facilities such as internet, digital camera, telephone wireless, multimedia, projectors, VCD players and satellite TV are not available in public secondary schools and there is low utilization of e-learning facilities such as computer, printer and scanner used by public secondary school teachers for curriculum implementation. Based on the findings, it was recommended that effort should be intensified by Delta State government to provide e-leaning facilities for teachers in public secondary schools, teachers in public secondary schools should be trained on how to use e-learning facilities for effective curriculum implementation, government at all levels should join hand together to promote the use of e-learning in secondary schools in Nigeria and courses related to e-learning should be taking into consideration during curriculum planning.

Abstract The role of Universal Basic Education in sustaining national unity cannot be over emphasized. It is the instrument that brings changes in knowledge, values, behaviours and life styles required to achieve national security. This paper therefore examines how universal basic education can bring about national security. It examines the concept of UBE, its objectives and operational framework. It also examines the concept of security, dimensions of national security and good governance. This paper therefore reviewed aspects of quality teachers for national transformation. It will in the course of the paper look at the meaning of teacher education, factors militating against quality teacher education; it will also highlight ways in which quality teacher education can be enhanced for national transformation. Lastly it will proffer solutions to the problems of teacher education.

Abstract This study is aimed at investigating the extent of availability and utilization of instructional materials in Junior Secondary Schools in Delta North Senatorial District. The sample size used for the study was 122 Business teachers made up of professionals and non-professionals. The questionnaire was developed and used to assess the level of availability. The three point rating scale was used to assess the level of utilization of the available instructional material. The statistical technique used for the study was the frequency count and percentages which was used to test the level of availability and the student t-test used to test for utilization of the instructional materials. The findings among others revealed that instructional materials are inadequate in Junior Secondary Schools in the area under study and appropriate recommendations are made.

Abstract The continued existence of poverty, unemployment and other social vices against which entrepreneurship education was introduced is still tormenting Nigeria. This paper therefore focuses on the role of entrepreneurship education in economic growth and development in Nigeria. The paper examined the concept of entrepreneurship education and economic growth and development. The paper also highlighted the benefit and role of Entrepreneurship education in economic growth and development as well as the challenges of an effective entrepreneurship education. Finally the paper recommends that facilities such as equipments, workshops, laboratories and others be upgraded to ensure effective entrepreneurship education in Nigeria.
