Background Dr Mrs Caroline Ochuko Alordiah is a highly accomplished academic with extensive experience
in mathematics education, measurement and evaluation. She obtained her Nigeria Certificate in
Education (Mathematics) in 1984 from the Federal College of Education Kontagora, Niger State,
a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Enugu
State, in 1993, a Master's Degree and PhD in Measurement and Evaluation from Delta State
University Abraka, Delta State in 2010 and 2015 respectively.
Dr Alordiah's professional qualifications extend beyond her academic credentials, with expertise
in counselling, facilitating online, and data analysis. She has worked as a secondary school
teacher in Delta State and a lecturer at the College of Education Warri and College of Education
Agbor. She is currently a lecturer at the Department of Science Education, University of Delta
Agbor, Delta State.
Dr Alordiah has made significant contributions to the field of education and is a member of
many professional bodies at the national and international levels. Her research interests include
research methods and data processing, measurement and evaluation, educational statistics,
continuous assessment, educational psychology, and special education. She has authored over 35
research articles, with over 85% of them in highly-rated national and international journals. She
has also authored, co-authored, and contributed to several books and has reviewed national and
international articles for journals, including Scopus-indexed journals.
Dr Alordiah's professional and academic expertise extends to various administrative roles,
including serving as the secretary to the School of Education conference committee and
examination ethics committee, welfare officer in the Department of Educational Psychology,
editor of the School of Education Journal (CEDAG Journal of Educational Studies), member
examination monitoring committee, and presently the assistant coordinator of Education/ecertification at the degree unit of the Institute of Education, Secretary, Faculty of Education
research/journal/distinguished lectures/workshop committee. Assistant business editor, the
University of Delta Journal of Contemporary Studies in Education (UJCSE).Chairman, faculty
timetable committee and member university timetable committee. She is the welfare officer to
the Department of Science Education. among others.
In addition to her academic accomplishments, Dr Alordiah has rendered several
community/national/professional services, including serving as a monitory officer to National
Examination Council (NECO) and chairperson to Scripture Union Campus Fellowship (SUCF)
for all tertiary institutions in Edo and Delta States.
Dr Alordiah's research and scholarly contributions are highly regarded, and she has attended
several national and international conferences and workshops. Her current research interests
focus on developing and validating measurement instruments, assessment in the early years,
ethics in research, and the use of technology for teaching, learning, assessment, and research.
