Abstract The paper examined ways of refocusing curriculum planning via pedagotronics school health delivery. There are no consensus curriculum definition among its experts but it is described as a planned composite which attempts to communicate essential principles and features of education proposal to facilitate students' attainment (Oriaifo, 2005). The nature, orientation and organization of curriculum planning is to build learning experiences resulting in the attainment of set goals of the school. Curriculum planning is dynamic in nature and so, teachers must be experts in the acts of healthful behaviour modification, counselling and leadership styles. Pedagotronics healthful school living is the application of electronic devices like ICT to refocus methods of teaching health to enhance the quality, of life of the learners. Pedagotronics healthful school curriculum delivery could trigger off challenges for teachers. In spite of this, pedagotronics literacy skills bring the transformation of natural resources into goods and services. This exposes teachers and learners alike to technological competencies. Curriculum planners are urged to refocus more on healthful school living behaviour modifications and governments should fund pedagotronics curriculum delivery.

Abstract The study examined the efficacy of bridging the gap between kinesthetics and expository methods on JSS3 students' PCAGAP in the ldah educational zone of Kogi state due to their manifest low achievement in the JSS 3 certificate examination in recent years which has been attributed to ineffective teaching methods used by teachers. Quasi-experimental involving a 3x2x2 factorial matrix was designed for this study. Three research questions guided this study while three hypotheses were formulated. A structured questionnaire tagged Personal Cleanliness After Gymnastics Activities Performance "PCAGAP" consisting of 20 multiple choice objective item test were distributed to 120 sampled respondents in JSS 3 from ldah educational-zone in Kogi state out of 560 target population used for data collection involving pre-test- post-test techniques. Analysis of covariance (ANCOVA), Sheffe Multiple Range-Test and-z test for two independent groups were used to analyze data collected to determine the difference between two variables of sex and location. Table 1 shows the significant difference between kinesthetics and expository methods on students' performances and so, Ho1 was rejected. Table 2 indicates a mean score of 23.83 for kinesthetics; a score of 21.21 for expository and a mean score of 19.35 for revision mode respectively. This implies that the kinesthetics method outperformed those taught using either expository or revision methods. Table 3 presents the z-Calculated table value of -3.91 and the z-critical table value of 1.96. Hence, Ho3 is rejected because the z-Calculated table value of -3.91<1.96 z-critical table value. There is a significant difference between males (20.16) and females (22.86) in favor of females. Table 4 mean score for urban is 21.06 and the mean score for rural is 20.69. As a result, there is no significant difference between urban and rural "PCAGA" mean scores. The result has led to the conclusion that the kinesthetics method of instruction should be incorporated into curriculum implementation compulsorily as it encourages and motivates students' interests to perform better in PCAGAP secondary education to keep fit always.

Abstract The global community is currently harnessing the lessons learnt from the COVID-19 Education response, to build more resilient education systems. This can effectively be achieved via empirical evidence of the experiences of all stakeholders in education in all nations during the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown. The purpose of this study was to explore student factors in the lecturers’ experience of their online emergency remote teaching (ERT) in the College of Education, Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria during the COVID-19 lockdown. Using a quantitative descriptive design, the lecturers completed a structured questionnaire about their online ERT experiences. The findings suggest that generally, the students chose the familiar WhatsApp (chat and voice) messaging as against the use of zoom and other platforms for the ERT. Top students’ challenges are: • unpreparedness for the ERT. • experience of unavailable/unstable network/internet access and • inability to purchase enough data. In addition, students lacked: ? smart phones/laptops/computers, ? necessary ICT skills, and ? did not embrace the ERT, although it engaged them academically during the lockdown. Based on these results and in view of prevalent/imminent lockdown due to emerging new variants of the COVID-19 such as delta and omicron, interventions/strategies for achieving successful and satisfactory online teaching are recommended.

Abstract The paper examined "Post COVID-19 pandemic recovery School Health Education (SHE) responsive curriculum planning, construction and implementation in Delta State-Nigeria" to avert school closure during the lockdown in any pandemic period. It is aimed at suspending face-to-face teaching mode without suspending schooling, promoting all-inclusive SHE, achieving a healthy living environment, and providing responsive curriculum planning, construction, and implementation, which would take care of current and unexpected needs, aspirations, and future challenges in case of any eventualities of the pandemic as well as combating widespread agitations for improved curricula. However, while reviewing the literature, the researcher suddenly found a missing gap between teacher and learners' learning corollary due to the rigid nature of curriculum construction, inadequate funding by the government at all levels, poor power supply, and lack of qualified ICT staff to manage online instruction during a pandemic. This is because certain subjects are taught with specific methods like guided discovery, which cannot be implemented without face-to-face teacher and learners' classroom interaction in the pandemic era. However, to overcome these challenges, it is recommended that: the use of responsive curriculum planning, construction, and dissemination should be adapted and adopted to take care of current and unexpected curricula issues during any pandemic, web-based/ internet computer-empowered (e-learning) teaching and learning should be used, computer-based teaching, CAL/L, web-based packages like Skype, Twitter, Facebook, and email-chatting to facilitate post-COVID-19 pandemic recovery in Delta State.

Abstract This paper focuses on blended teaching of human health habits in nursery classes using Multimedia Online Video Platform Instructional Technologies (MOVPIT) to avoid the further spread of COVID-19 in the pandemic era. The purpose is to: close the teaching gap between pre-basic education teachers and nursery classes in the coronavirus era, achieve uninterrupted access to education at home during a lockdown or school closure and enable kids to receive lessons via MOVPIT as if they are watching home videos on YouTube and Adobe Spark Videos in COVID-19 period and tackle the challenges of teaching nursery kids in the pandemic era. It has been observed that the COVID-19 pandemic led to school closures globally and kids were restricted from going to school in 2020. In the course of our review, the researchers found a missing link between pre- basic education teachers and the nursery classes whereby children could not be taught effectively during the coronavirus pandemic period and this has prompted them to delve into using MOVPIT. As a result, the paper suggests the following: (1) MOVPIT should be used in asynchronous remote teaching-learning encounters at home to provide a relaxed schedule for nursery kids and free to access lesson materials at different hours and locations. (2) Learners determine learning styles to enable parents/ guardians to assist them in effective virtual and hybrid nursery class lessons. (3) Parents can help their children to download lessons from MOVPIT using IPad, Android phones and laptops. Therefore, the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) and the general public should be trained through seminars, workshops, conferences and webinars on how best to employ MOVPIT to assist their children in a pandemic era to attain set curriculum delivery objectives in nursery classes in Nigeria.

Abstract The paper is concerned with the catastrophic incident of COVID-19 on Basic school Health Community Services Curriculum delivery between April and August 2020. The disruption of the schooling system introduced anxiety, fear, stress, horror, "abnormal realities ", hunger, historic sit-at-home order by governments of many nations of the world, new normal of wearing face masks, social distancing, washing of hands with clean running water, travelling restrictions, death, isolation of victims, unprecedented swift shifting from face to face classroom-teaching to a remote and unstructured online basic school community health services curriculum delivery in Nigeria (UNESCO 2020 & Awuja, 2021). Challenges of the rapid spread of the COVID-19 pandemic quickly changed the rhythm of international relations from the perspective of a single country or multilateral levels to test that led to economic recession, poverty and all forms of calamity thereby hindering Basic School Community Health Services Curriculum delivery. Basic school Community Health Services is a cooperative and contributory activity of the school, home and community to protect, promote, maintain, and establish an understanding working relationship among various stakeholders inside and outside school environment. It is sad to note that COVID-19 challenges disrupted teacher-pupils interrelationship and normal face-to-face teaching, especially at basic education levels. The paper observed that the COVID-19 pandemic took WHO experts, medical specialists, scientific researchers and health educators unaware due to preparedness. Lessons learnt from the COVID-19 pandemic include humility; the need to go back to personal hygiene, cleanliness and research on how to combat such virus-like COVID-19 in the nearest future. Hence, it recommends that parents, teachers, health personnel nurses/ doctors and Basic School managers need to constantly attend seminars, conferences and so on to acquaint themselves with COVID-19 preventive measures since it has no cure yet.

Abstract The issues and challenges of application of curriculum delivery particularly in physical education are enormous, some of the identified challenges include lack of computers with information and communication technology (ICT) tools, complete computer illiterate among teachers and inadequate funding. Other challenges are unreliable internet access, epileptic power supply, the planning of themes of knowledge and illperception of some teachers who are supposed to participate in the application of curriculum delivery. The paper describes ICT as tools for educational components involving curriculum delivery and pedagogy into a single entity called ICT enhanced instruction. The curriculum is viewed as a vehicle to reach the goal of education. The paper sees education as possessing growing qualities like a living organism which one of its many attributes is constant change in emphasis by adapting itself to new demands and circumstances (Ivowi 2009). The challenges of the application of ICT in curriculum delivery fit into this category. This is because a curriculum is a tool designed for educating a person in order to bring change in orientation, actions, behaviour and value claims to that of a good person. In conclusion, the paper calls for teacher competencies in the application of ICT to enhance curriculum delivery. Finally, it is recommended that curriculum developers and the ministry of education should incorporate ICT in curriculum delivery in physical education.

Abstract The paper examines how health educator improvises instructional technology in COVID 19 pandemic era to remedy school curriculum delivery especially when learners have to adapt to new methods of taking online lessons. The technological new approach may impact the health, safety, comfort, finance and academic performances of learners. Learners have to interact with new instructional technologies like computers, mice, chairs, tables, desks, electrical outlets and lots more designed in an ergonomic manner forcing students' body segments to adopt uncomfortable postures during lessons like physical soreness/ pains which may be back, neck, legs, hands, waist and wrists. Another example is the utilization of unfamiliar instructional technological applications such as zoom Join meeting/ seminar/ workshops, Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, AtomGram and internet driving e-learning among others just to fulfil Google class assignments. Usually, instructional technology refers to teaching resources like chalkboards, flannel boards, charts, electronic whiteboards, magnetic boards, videotapes, & mm films, 16mm films, projectors, print or educational technology. Instructional technology is a component of educational technology designed to stimulate, influence, inform, propel, project, enhance, arrest learners' interest an assist a teacher to become more effective if properly utilized. To improvise means to innovatively introduce a novel factor/material to effect improvement in teaching. This is why, it is called teaching aid, apparatus/instructional resources materials or media. The teacher improvises when the original material is not readily available. It can be concrete or abstract. The main aim is to bring about teacher effectiveness.

Abstract The paper examined the role of a positive school climate as a panacea for effective BEC implementation. School climate in this work is seen as an "atmosphere or "tone" which makes an institution to get a unique quality of her own so that parents and visitors to school can notice easily the tone soon after entering as it plays the role of facilitating cordial relationships, safety, caring, participatory and responsive effort to foster greater learners' attachment to school. A positive school climate promotes cooperative learning, group cohesion, respect, mutual trust and communication flow within the school community leading to cognitive, affective and psychomotor development of the learners. School heads and teachers need to define sets of norms, goals, values and aspirations capable of shaping BEC implementation due to FME 's decision to restructure and re-align all extant BEC into a 9-year programme in 2008 which poor implementation was largely noticed. Based on the revised 2012 edition of BEC, the need for use of the role of PSC like interpersonal relations to support school-home-community partnerships as a prosocial democratic informed school system for effective BEC I becomes imperative in this work. The role of PSC assists in reducing absenteeism, less-Violence, bullying but motivates learners to learn via collaborative efforts by the stakeholders. FME has therefore been urged to organize seminars/ workshops on the need to use the role of PSC for BEC implementation.

Abstract The paper discussed on Basic Health Education Curriculum Development for Technological Implementation (BHECDTI) as the nexus for school health status. BHECDTI deals with a planned composite that communicate necessary health habits like care of the eyes, ears, hair, fingernails, use of leisure hours, sports, table manners and avoiding rough play (Nwajei and Awuja, 2013). Health is a state of complete physical, social and mental well being and not mere absence of disease or infirmity according to “WHO". Implementation of the Basic Health Education Curriculum is aimed at transmitting better Health knowledge, skills and practices to pre-primary and primary school pupils as the nexus in Delta State. Lack of health educators, learners' poor home training, disinterest, inadequate modern technological facilities plus inadequate funding kick against its implementations. Hence, the government in collaboration with basic school health educators have been urged to constantly fund BHEDTI via conferences/ seminars and train teachers among other things to attain the set goals in the policy document.

Abstract Education as a potent tool brings about development and national transformation. "Teacher education” curriculum is designed to meet the yearning needs and aspirations of the Nigerian people (Nwadiani, 2013). Teacher education is a form of education tailored towards producing those expected to teach at primary and secondary schools. Effective teacher education is capable of bringing about sustainable development in all sectors of the economy in all developing nations including Nigeria to enhance and transform the quality of life of the people. Teacher education is the hub which the wheel of functional basic education curriculum delivery rotates because teachers are the single greatest influence on a learner's learning outcomes resulting from research-based pedagogic tools and evaluation. Pupils become products of functional basic education curriculum delivery by teachers who translate curriculum into a syllabus, schemes of work, lesson nits and notes. Skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing are taught by trained teachers leading to national transformation but poor quality teacher supply can negatively affect basic education curriculum delivery. Hence, the fund should be provided for training and retraining of teachers via conferences, seminars and workshops to enable the implementers to make the basic education curriculum functional.

Abstract This paper looks at empathic responding and perception as a panacea for the reduction of violent behaviors among adolescents, the development and correlates of empathy and the general causes of violent behaviors. Violent behaviors involve a physical attack on another person and activities that may involve violence include hunting, law enforcement and sports. But it needs to be managed constructively. Violent behaviour involve few problems, create many and breed more violence. Empathic responding and perception, however, is a vehicle for understanding one another in a meaningful way. It covers a broad spectrum, ranging from a feeling of concern for other people that creates a desire to help them, experiencing an emotion that matches another person's emotions, knowing that other person is thinking or feeling, to shaping the line between self and other. The paper also recommends that empathic training should be built into the curriculum and schools' programme

Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted every aspect of life, including the education sector in 2020 and beyond. As schools closed their doors to curb the spread of the virus, the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) emerged as a private sector-led initiative to support the government's efforts in containing the pandemic. One of the areas that CACOVID focused on was school health community services which played a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students and teachers. This paper examines the challenges and strategies in integrating school health community services into the basic education curriculum reforms and dissemination strategies in CACOVID’s intervention programme during the pandemic using a critical viewpoint of CACOVID's efforts. Drawing from literature and expert opinions, it was argued that while CACOVID made significant contributions to the education sector, there were critical areas where the initiative failed to address the needs of vulnerable groups, such as rural, low income communities and school health community services. To address these challenges, the paper recommends school health community service curriculum reforms in basic education and use dissemination strategies that prioritize community engagement, partnership building and equitable distribution of intervention resources. These strategies include incorporating health education into CACOVID intervention programmes by fostering multi-stakeholder collaborations, leveraging technology for remote learning and strengthening monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.

Basic education is given to children aged 0 to 15 years including early childhood education ranging from 0 to 5 and 9 years of formal schooling (FRN, 2008). Early childhood education is segmented into ages 0 to 3 years situated in daycare centres managed by private sectors and social development services but 3 to 5 years are within formal education sector. It is aimed at attaining MDGs goal number two plus education for all (EFA) in 2015 as proposed by UNESCO in 2005. It provides the child with diverse basic knowledge, skills for entrepreneurship, wealth Creation and further education. It caters for school dropouts, adults and mass literacy. Management is the performance of executive duties by carrying-out decisions to fulfil a purpose and control the day-to-day running of organization. Educational management refers to the application of theories and practices of management to the field of education. The school manager implements the curriculum by conducting cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains’ activities. However, challenges facing school management include lack of teachers' effectiveness due to poor leadership. Thus, the aim of transforming the nation via basic education teachers' effectiveness is defeated. The government is urged to sponsor conferences, seminars and workshops among others to attain set goals for basic education programmes.

Abstract Ideally, the pride of any effective leadership eligible for measuring the impact of efficient national development in a manner that its citizenry could derive joy from her key contributions through the basic value-added model in education, health, economic and democratic governance. For a country to be in a Phase of development there must be pre-conditions which include quality education and effective leadership. Quality education is indispensable for efficient leadership and enlightened followership to speed up sustainable development. Nigeria's philosophy and goals of education are articulated in the "National Policy on Education" involving collective widespread consultations with stakeholders such as curriculum developers/ planners, subject specialists, market women and employers of labour by the Nigerian Education Research and Development Council (NERDC) to ensure input from the three tiers of governments (Federal, State and Local) for successful policy implementation. Teachers who are chief implementers have a dominant influence on the learner's academic achievement because of teaching and learning which determine the product (leadership). The teaching-learning process is measured in terms of knowledge, skills, abilities, service delivery and educational achievement the world over. Hence, quality education is tied to effective national development through teacher leadership model standards designed to facilitate dialogue among stakeholders that decide the kind of knowledge, skills and competencies needed to focus on sustainable national development in this paper.

Abstract The paper describes the ICT curriculum as an effort to determine the nature, organization and orientation of curriculum design within the internet environment. ICT curriculum is an application of IT to collect, store, handle, display and process information via electronic internet devices. ICT curriculum development calls for teachers, administrators, technologists, telecommunication experts, students, medical scientists and the wider society to make their own input. Curriculum development originates from what society wants. Hence, ICT is meant o transform the content and mode of curriculum delivery but many challenges confront ideal ICTE. These include illiteracy, ignorance, lack of experts, lack of standardization and others. Therefore, regular training and ICT/ computer education need to be incorporated into the teacher education programmes.

Abstract This study investigates the ability to produce desired results using demonstration alone and combine it with an advance organizer as a method. These are used in teaching physical education to Junior Secondary Students in class three (JSS III) in the Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State. The researchers adopt a pre-test post-test quasi-experimental group control design. The sample consisted of 120 intact class students from selected schools. The instrument used to collect data was the physical education achievement test (PEAT) designed by the investigators. Testretest reliability was established using Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficient method and 'r' was .67. The data collected for hypothesis testing were analyzed using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) and t-test for two independent variables. The result also reveals no interaction effect between methods and sex on achievement scores in P.E. The finding was that demonstration combined with advance organizers was more efficacious in teaching P.E. as the experimental group (ii) did better than the experimental group (i) and the control group. It was concluded that this approach (demonstration plus advance organizer) proved to be more effective in teaching physical education to improve the student's performance at the JSS III level in this study. As a result, it was recommended that P.E. teachers should follow the principles of advance organizers when planning for demonstration teaching to the students. Hence, it is recommended that P.E. teachers should actively involve students by providing relevant advance organizers to anchor incoming lessons to facilitate the full active participation of students to enhance their performances.

Abstract The issue of achieving vision 20-20-20 has been on the top burner as far as Nigeria is concerned. How to realize it has become a matter of concern to stakeholders in all sectors of the economy, education inclusive. Closely related to this is also the question of how Nigeria can achieve the Education for All (EFA) by 2015 and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) as the achievement of these goals will chart the course of actualizing vision 20-20-20. To achieve these goals, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education proposed the Learning Plus Initiative (LPI) whose cross-cutting themes are all-inclusive education, child participation and gender equity. This paper examines the utilization of the principles of all-inclusiveness, participation and gender equity in the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), rationale and strategies for child inclusion, participation and gender equity.

Abstract The paper focuses on hygienic instructional multimedia improvement for viable hi-tech enactment in primary schools as the nexus for school hygienic status. It compacts with a planned multiple hygienic programs that translate essential healthy living environment such as avoidance of poor sanitation capable of spreading cholera, diarrhea, typhoid fever and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD). BOD is a measure of oxygen pollution. As a matter of necessity, adequate clean water supply to aid primary hygienic instructional multimedia enhancement within school communities in area of drinking, cooking, washing and supporting various smallscale agricultural activities or gardens. Furthermore, provision of different types of latrine like bucket latrine, pit latrine, septic tank systems and incineration latrine are basic facts about hygiene, sanitation and sanitary systems in school environments. Enactment of the primary hi-tech hygienic multimedia improvement instruction is targeted at transmitting better hygienic curriculum awareness, skills and practices to primary school pupils as the nexus in Nigerian educational system. Lack of hygienic multimedia instructors, learners' poor home training, disinterest, inadequate hi-tech instructional multimedia facilities plus inadequate funding by the government kick against its enactment. Therefore, the government should collaborate with hygienic multimedia instructors in primary schools and curriculum planners/ developers to constantly fund hygienic instructional improvement for viable hi-tech enactment in primary schools via conferences/ seminars, webinars and training of hygienic educators among other things to attain the set goals in the policy document.

Abstract This study examined core curriculum in basic health promotion interventions strategic implementation challenges on pupils’ academic achievement during 2022 flood disasters in Kogi East Senatorial District (KESD). It investigated the performance of male and female pupils, influence of urban and rural locations on pupils’ achievement and the impact of different income levels on pupils’ learning outcomes during 2022 flood disaster. The study employed a quantitative research method to investigate implications of 2022 flood disasters on pupils’ academic achievement in Core Curriculum Basic Health Promotion Intervention Strategies (CCBHPIS). All the basic education pupils in KESD formed the target population but the researcher sampled 200 subjects using three Research Questions and three hypotheses to guide the study. The questionnaire was the instrument used to collect data and it was analyzed using descriptive statistics, two-way ANOVA and post-hoc analysis. The findings revealed a significant difference between male and female pupils' achievement with males achieving higher scores. However, no significant differences were observed between urban and rural pupils. There was a significant difference in achievement between high and low-income pupils with high-income pupils exhibiting better academic achievement. These findings underscore importance of gender-sensitive interventions, equitable access to quality CCBHPIS to support low-income pupils to enhance their academic achievement in health promotion interventions during flood disasters. It also recommends the need for disaster preparedness measures in education system to mitigate impact of future flood disasters on pupils' academic achievement.
