Abstract The framework of the proposed study is sustainable democracy, which is possible with the participation of the “people,” particularly the youth. Young people have the energy, potential, and ability to take risks. When young people participate actively in governance, it leads to good governance. Youths who do not obtain the education required to develop active participation in democratic life are more prone to losing interest in politics. This is in accordance with John Dewey’s view that education is an important component of democracy. As a consequence, it is vital to provide young people with much needed education for active citizenship participation. The research investigated how educational programmes and activities may be utilised to educate Nigerian youth for active participation and the long-term viability of democracy. The descriptive survey research approach was applied. Two research topics and two hypotheses were proposed for the study. 236 students were chosen at random from a population of 1,200 at Delta State University Abraka (Agbor Undergraduate Students). The “Education and Sustainable Democratic Questionnaire (ESDQ)” was used to survey the respondents. The mean score was used to answer the researcher’s questions, and the hypotheses were tested using a Z-test with a significance threshold of 0.05. Both assumptions were shown to be wrong. The data revealed a significant relationship between education and democracy. As a consequence, policymakers were recommended to include in the school curriculum appropriate initiatives that would support and preserve democracy in Nigeria.

Abstract The study investigates the concerning issue of unemployment among Nigerian
graduates in recent years. Youth unemployment has come from the University's incapacity to meet
the needs of these graduates, as well as the promotion of economic, self-reliance, and
selfsufficiency. In Nigeria, this has led in a rise in youth unrest. In addition, the purpose of this
study is to investigate employability, with a focus on the relationship between education and
employability, in order to evaluate whether employability can be improved through university
education. The article goes on to highlight some employability skills and propose ways for
universities to re-engineer themselves in order to obtain these capabilities for the benefit of our
students and society as a whole.

Abstract The leadership style of principals was investigated as a driver of teacher job
performance in public secondary schools in Delta North senatorial district of Delta
State. The study's participants were 12,200 teachers from Delta North senatorial
district's 166 public secondary schools. A sample of 240 teachers was chosen from
this cohort using simple random selection. The study used two tools to gather data:
the Leadership Style Questionnaires (LSQ) and the Teacher Job Performance
Questionnaire (TJPQ). The study was guided by two research questions and two
hypotheses. At the 0.05 level of significance, the data was analyzed using frequency
and percentage for the research questions and the chi-square contingency table for
the hypotheses. The democratic system was discovered to be effective and the most
popular leadership style adopted by principals of public secondary schools in the
district was style. In terms of teacher perceptions of work performance, there was no
significant difference between male and female teachers. It was suggested that
'principals at these schools maintain a democratic leadership style. Autocratic and
laissez-faire leadership styles should be avoided at all costs.

Delta State, 50 principals and 600 teachers were selected
as sample. Data were collected and analysed using mean
and one way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), conducted at
0.05 level of significance. The result revealed that there is a
significant difference in the mean ratings of male and
female teachers on sources of drinking water in schools in
Delta State. It also showed that there is no significant
difference in the mean ratings of male and female teachers
on availability of sanitation facilities in schools in Delta
State. The findings indicated that there is a significant

Abstract Education is very necessary for man in order to articulate himself and achieve
fullness. But the formal system of education cannot alone provide all education
one needs for self-fulfillment and national development. Within and outside
Nigeria, analysts are of the view that the country has the potential to be
prosperous. As Nigeria attempts without much success to pull itself out of the
quagmire of underdevelopment, the inevitable persistent question has been,
given the resources at its disposal, why has the country remained mired in
poverty? This paper attempts to provide a partial answer by adducing that
Nigeria’s inadequate commitment, over the years, to pursue the development of
adult education as a strategic objective, as well as an instrument for national
development, has been one of the major draw backs to the country’s efforts to
pull itself out of poverty. Underscoring the role of education as co-terminous
with life, the paper proposes an adult education agenda for Nigeria.

coefficient of 0.82 was obtained. Two research questions and two hypotheses were used. The
research questions were analyzed using central points while the hypothetical hypotheses were
analyzed using the chi-square table. The significance level was set at 0.05. The study revealed
that the UBE Program was poorly implemented in Delta State and inadequate resources and
