Abstract Efforts have been on in the search for strategies that could
improve teachers' knowledge and pedagogic skills for classroom practice.
The student teaching practice (a period of internship) has been an age long
practice of enabling pre-service teachers acquire teaching experiences and
improve their skills about the profession. However, the need to explore
other possibilities that could enhance the acquisition of the desired
teaching skills informed this study. A sample of two hundred and forty
teacher education students participated in the study out of which one
hundred and twenty received mentoring either by an expert or from a peer
before proceeding on teaching practice. A quasi experimental design was
adopted. Data was collected using Teachers Test of Classroom
Competency (TTCC). Result showed a higher competence level of
mentored group over the control group (Non-mentored). The inclusion of
mentoring as an additional strategy in would-be teachers training
programme was recommended.

Abstract This paper focuses on the need to integrate entrepreneurship education in teacher
education programme to enhance national development. It examines the concepts of
teacher education and entrepreneurship education. The various strategies for
integrating entrepreneurial skill development in teacher education were also discussed.
In addition the meaning of skill training, the roles of entrepreneurship education in
national development as well as some challenges of effective entrepreneurship
education were examined. Based on the discussion, the paper recommended among
others, the provision of adequate funds, adequate facilities and creation of awareness
on the relevance of entrepreneurship education.

Abstract The paper discussed the impact of educational resources on the
quality of educational service delivery in universities in Nigeria. Educational
resources are human and material resources at the educational
administrator's disposal to pursue and achieve the objectives and goals of
education. Educational resources in the university include administrative
staff, teachers, buildings, libraries, laboratories, books, computers, and time.
The resources are important for providing a learning experience for the
students and assisting the interaction between students and teachers
during the teaching/learning process. The availability and utilization of
educational resources within the educational system are very
important in attaining educational goals. The teacher's academic
performance and the learner outcome are determined by the availability and
optimal utilization of the resources. Effective teachers plan carefully, use
appropriate materials, communicate goals pedagogy to attain the stated

Abstract Digital technology have been sources of remarkable development in all
sectors of the economy including education. They have imparted
meaningfully on the growth, efficiency and quality of the educational sector
with the implementation of UBE inclusive. Digital technology skills are set of
knowledge and competence for using computer system, surfing the internet
and engaging in the use of other electronic technology for information

Abstract Terrorism is a global issue and has been devastating in Nigeria, destroying
citizens' properties and creating fear. Nigerians, especially those from the
Northern part of the country, are badly affected socially, physically,
academically, emotionally, and otherwise. The terrorists inflict pain and
terror on the citizen through wanton destruction of lives and properties,
abduction/kidnapping, sexual violence, and ransom payment from victims.
It has negative and traumatic impacts on the citizens. The girl-child is also
affected; they are faced with sexual violence, forced marriage and
prevention from accessing education. Government has a lot to do in
combating terrorism in Nigeria. The Federal Government should prioritize
the citizens' security and the creation of adequate facilities for education,
employment, and equity in the distribution of the nation's wealth.

Abstract The last four decades in the history of Nigeria witnessed series of
educational experiments. These experiments were responses to national
demands for education that will meet the developmental needs of a
developing nation such as Nigeria. Most of these programmes suffered
implementation problems that saw their early demise. The Universal Basis
Education (UBE), a new initiative for change, with its laudable objectives
could provide the catalyst for a steady technological growth of Nigeria if
adequate measures are taken to ensure proper implementation. The paper
Looked at what the institutions of higher learning in Nigeria could do to
come to the rescue of the UBE in the face of some indications emerging and
calls for early intervention by the academic community. The paper
recommended among others, the implementation of the 26% of annual
budgeting recommended by UNESCO for the funding of the UBE in other to

Abstract Nursery education is the foundation stone of all other educational systems,
because it is upon it every other levels of formal educational systems are
built. Thus the paper examines the relevance of nursery education,
problems of nursery education and strategies aimed at having functional
nursery education. Functional nursery education helps in the cognitive,
psychomotor and social development of the child. The objectives of nursery
education can be achieved through adequate funding, adequate qualified
and competent teachers, curbing problem of overcrowded classroom,
improved condition of service of teachers, restructuring of the curriculum,
adequate supervision and provision of conducive academic environment. It
is recommended that all the stakeholders at this level of education should

Abstract This work focused on the involvement of principals in examination
malpractice in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State. The
research design was descriptive survey. In conducting this research
work,430 teachers were sampled from the public secondary schools in Ika
North East Arca. The questionnaire entitled principal and examination
malpractice (PAEM) was adopted to elicit information from the
respondents.Chi-square was used to analyse the data. Some of the findings
revealed that: principals are fully involved in examination malpractice,
inadequate infrastructural facilities lead to examination malpractice and
principals engage teachers in examination malpractice. The researcher
therefore recommends among others that: Decree No.33 of 1999
concerning examination malpractice should be re-enforced, adequate
infrastructural facilities should be provided, and parents should stop
mounting pressure on their children as regards the choice of career.

Abstract Universal Basic Education was launched in 1999 by the former President, Olusegun Obasanjo. The aim was to eradicate illiteracy in the country. Basic
Education embraced all kinds of knowledge and skills necessary for an
individual to live a UBEful, local government are involved in the management
of the programme. Despite the efforts of government to provide a viable
UBE programme, it is bedeviled by some obstacles which include - lack of
adequate funds, inadequate educational facilities, inadequate supervision
and lack of incentives to the teachers and supervisors. For the realization of

Abstract ducation has a transforming power that influences both individuals and communities. The idea of
maintaining harmony in education has been more popular recently, placing emphasis on the
requirement for coordinated efforts by teachers, students, parents, and the larger community. This
paper looks at the value of a harmonious education in releasing a group's potential through group
leadership. There is discussion of the elements that support educational concord. In-depth discussion is
given on the value of embracing inclusion, encouraging free speech, and cultivating empathy and
compassion within the educational ecosystem. Furthermore, the significance of a supportive school
climate, student agency, and teacher collaboration in creating peaceful learning environments is
emphasized. There are some suggestions made on how educational institutions might actively foster a
peaceful learning atmosphere. Recommendations for educational institutions to actively promote a
harmonious learning environment are highlighted. Among which are, advocate for the integration of
social-emotional learning (SEL) programs, strengthening parent-teacher partnerships, and creating
